Our Instructors: Pamela Shahan

Born and raised in Texas, Pamela Shahan began dancing at the age of four. She has studied a variety of disciplines including ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, lyrical, and modern. While working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Texas at Austin, she performed in the Dance Repertory Theatre?s biannual performances during all four years of her schooling and worked with many talented artists including Andrea Beckham, David Justin, Andee Scott, Yacov Sharir, Holly Williams, and Lyn Wiltshire. Pamela also performed at The Kennedy Center during the 2006 National College Dance Festival. After college, Pamela moved to Seattle and attended the 2007 Strictly Seattle Dance Intensive where she was given the opportunity to work with many local Seattle choreographers and teachers including Hannah Wiley, Kitty Daniels, Michelle Miller, and Keith Johnson. Pamela also performed a new work choreographed by Dayna Hanson. While in Seattle, Pamela danced professionally as a company member of Redd Legg Dance for two seasons. Pamela started teaching dance in 2004 and has also taught as a preschool classroom teacher. She enjoys teaching all ages and styles and loves to see others sharing her passion for dance. |
